I put on my Deepening Hypnosis track in the car and Josh said it seemed I was asleep during the ride to the center. I remember having several intense waves on the way down but felt able to stay in control with my Hypnobabies tracks. When we arrived at the Birth Center the Midwife Student who greeted us said I looked so calm that when she checked to see how dilated I was she was surprised to see I was fully dilated. I told her I didn't want to know how far along I was but when she immediately told me I could get into the birthing tub I knew I was close to Transformation.
In hindsight I wish I had done more Fear Clearing regarding pushing because that feeling caught me off guard. I was in the birth tub when I began to feel pushy and Byrd (our Doula ) asked if I wanted to put on the pushing track. I wasn't mentally prepared to push yet and told her no. BOP: I ended up having to get out of the tub to get oxygen because Oakley wasn't liking being in the water. end BOP
Someone switched the pushing track on and it was so helpful to concentrate on the music from the track. With mother directed pushing (yay no tears!) Oakley was out in 3.5 hours. The RN told me that she had seen several Hypno clients and that she was impressed with how in control I seemed. It was definitely an INTENSE experience for me and I wouldn't say painless but Hypnobabies helped me stay calm and remember to follow my body.
Thanks for teaching such a wonderful class! I feel that even though I didnt have the exact birth I envisioned, I had the tools to have a natural birth that I don't have any regrets about. Oakley was born at 4:46 am May 3rd.
